I spent some time this morning taking the great Kelby Training class Wordpress Basics for photographers 2. Rafael “RC” Concepcion is a great teacher and he covered how to turn a Zoomify export into a blog post. This is my example. Thanks to Kelby Training, one of the best money investments so far this year. I have to get RC on the show. RC if you read this, please contact me.
To say that Cirque Du Soleil’s “Love” at the Las Vegas Mirage Hotel was a work of passion would be an easy copout. However, this past week George Starcher and I were given the opportunity to get free tickets to see “Love” and experience the Beatles music in a way that must be seen to be believed. Yes, the show was fantastic; yes, you should make a point of going next time you are in Las Vegas. Those are easy things to say after experienceing the show and the music.
The highlight for George and I was the backstage tour we recorded. In this photo and audio motage recorded backstage, you will meet Ben Stephenson, the Assistant Head Carpenter for the show; and Gavin Whitely, the Audio Production Chair for “Love.” These two guys were filled with knowledge and a passion for their work and the music that leaps into the camera and microphone.
We were most impressed with how what we saw backstage, translated into a polished production that is more about the music than just the entertainment. Thanks to the folks at Cirque du Soleil for a chance to see this show from the inside out. We hope you enjoy this video as much as George and I did.
My wife Mary and I got to go to San Pedro California yesterday and shoot the Point Vicente Lighthouse. This is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the U.S. I wanted to try out the new Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 and we don’t need much of an excuse to go out and shoot. Enjoy.
Mary and I just left Glacier National Park where the opportunities to take pictures are numerous. Here is one example, many more will follow as I took more than 700 pictures.
Listen to this wonderful talk by Bryan Peterson author of Understanding Exposure. It was fantastic to get to talk to the man that made me finally move from the “A” button to the “M” button. Thanks you Bryan.
